As parents of 3 young children and music lovers we wanted the kids first holiday experiences to be a little different this summer. The boys (1 and 2) are a little young to be going on flights (hello climbers and toddler tantrums) or so we think at the moment. Parents of more than a handful, you hear me?
So as we (the parents) used to love a good gig (still do but not as often) we were thrilled to be asked by Funk The Family to become ambassadors for the first festival of the summer. Me and Gav still lust after friday nights of music and late night chatter (10pm is late late) and sunday mornings lazy music listening. When you become parents often we focus on the child friendly element and so we have incorporated a few of our fave habits into daily life. Daddy is very much into his vinyl now and I love switching on the radio to get my work on.
Anyway I am explaining too much about Chez McCann rather than Funk The Family. So here goes…
Funk The Family is on Fathers Day this year – what a treat for the dads! Beer, music, family fun all in Hove Park. It is what it says a festival full of funky tunes and vibes. As it is local to us there is no camping, minimal travelling and maximum fun! It is perfect for us!
There are family activities galore as well as great music and as Micro Scooter ambassadors we might have a try at their Wacky Races too.
For the parents (and the kids who like to get their groove on) Jazzie B from Soul 2 Soul is this years headline. It’s a pretty reasonable priced brighton festival compared to other day tickets for festivals too. £25 for each adult and £10 for kids between 1 and 12 years old so for us it works out £80 for the day.
So grab a ticket now while you can and we’ll see you there!
