Quick and Easy Recipes To Build Community Relationships – #ThankGoodness for #Dolmio

A few weeks ago Dolmio sent me a box of delicious goodies as part of their Thank Goodness campaign so that we could whip up a few of our family favourite meals.

Just before the hamper of fresh veg, chicken, beef and pasta arrived out neighbours welcomed a new baby into the world.

Our kitchen renovation was nearly complete and so it made sense to me to whip up a few favourites for them to eat!

Our first meal was a chilli. For this you just need:

Lean mince beef or Quorn

Dolmio original sauce

Chilli powder

Green Pepper

Kidney beans

Cheats rice (you know the microwave style!)

This recipe is so simple as you just chop up the veg and pop it all in your slow cooker. Serve in a bowl on nachos or rice. Add a pinch of chilli flakes and sour cream to taste and there you go chilli on the go!

Our second meal was Spanish sausage casserole.

You’ll need

Dolmio with roasted veggies

A chicken stock cube

Potato (make it super easy by getting a micro version if you want or need to be super quick!)

Brown the sausages, chop the veg but make it chunky and then…you guessed it bung it all in a slow cooker, crumble the stock cube and wait! I always do casseroles on a low heat!

Our neighbours were so pleased with the meals and the hamper helped us create 4 meals for them. Early parenthood can be so difficult and something quick and easy to make for a neighbour in need of an elderly neighbour can go a long way on building community relationships.

We love the fact that Dolmio can be so versatile. During the week we also make a lasagne and spaghetti bolognese!

Watch this video to find out more about the campaign! I loved that we got the kids involved in cooking more.

They especially  loved making their own pizza using Dolmio with mushrooms as the sauce!

You need:

Pizza Bases

Dolmio with mushrooms

Grates Mozzarela

Layer your pizza and bung in the oven until the cheese is golden.

For a starter we made  Cheesy aubergines!

You need

Classic Dolmio

Fresh Basil

Slice  the Aubergine and Mozzarella. On a tray layer the aubergine with a dollop of Dolmio and a slice of Mozzarella. Top with basil and cook for 20 minutes on gas mark 5.

We also made a simple salad too!

So what are your quick and easy recipes?

Extra Info

Dolmio Bolognese Original 500g sauce is 100% natural. In each jar, you’ll find at least 10 juicy diced tomatoes, a dollop of tomato puree, half an onion, a tablespoon of sunflower oil, a couple of cloves of garlic, a handful of herbs including basil, a teaspoon of cornflour, a teaspoon of salt, a pinch of pepper, two teaspoons of added beet sugar for taste, a squeeze of lemon juice, a splash of water and nothing more. In fact, a jar provides a family of four with one of their 5-a-day each and that’s before you add any further veg to the meal!
