Review // The Giggling Squid

In the heart of Brighton Lanes you will find a lovely Thai restaurant called the Giggling Squid. I have been in Brighton for over 13 years now and have never ventured to this restaurant.

Fizz and I were invited to come along and try out their children’s menu over half term. I has been misguided and hadn’t really thought of it as a place to take the kids but was I surprised!

Fizz was made to feel super welcome! She is a very fussy eater but the lovely person serving us managed to get her to try a couple of new things. The restaurant itself is home in a old house, this means that each restaurant room is limited to 4 tables so it gives it a intimate feeling but there is also space too. I do like a quiet space in a restaurant and so to set it out this way is lovely for me. When I visit a place I don’t want it to feel too loud and overbearing.

We decided to order a few meze type platters. the sharing platters are a great way to get children to try new things and we found the portions we got were just right for a lunchtime meal.

The service was brilliant. Fizz did her usual mumbles at trying new things and the lovely hostess was so calm and talked to Fizz about the food rather than to me which made a whole heap of difference to the experience.

The food was delicious and I will not hesitate to visit again. It was fresh, vibrant and really tasty! I also thought it was very good value for money with the children menu coming at £5.95 for 2 courses.
