So kids are parties, easy right? Well, maybe not so much. There can be a lot of pressure around these sorts of events. From trying to give your little ones everything that their heart’s desire, to impressing the guests and their families. Combine that with the emotion of your kids getting a year older, and it’s no wonder many mums need a good cry after such as event! With Jedi’s 3rd birthday fast approaching I have been looking for other ways to make life easier! I have found that there are some ways to make it fun and easy for yourself. Just read on to find out more.
Have someone else organise it for you
Some mums might have the idea that if you have your kids party at a venue outside the home, that you are cheating. Not me, I say if there is someone that can do this tricky task for you, go for it!
There are plenty of choices available now too. Like Build A Bear Workshop parties, Pizza Express parties and even Play Barn parties. Just think how easy it will be if you don’t have to set up or clear up afterward!
However, having a party at another location can be an expensive choice, so for economic reasons, you may still go ahead with one at home. But don’t worry because you can make these a lot easier too.
One way of doing this is to make sure that you provide entertainment. A group of kids filled full of sugar, without anything to focus on isn’t exactly what you are going to want in your home all afternoon.
Good entertainment choices include things like bouncy castle hire, magicians, and entertainers dressed up as the kid’s favorite princesses, or Disney character. Providing these sort of things for the kids to focus on will not only help them have a good time but should also mean you home stays in one piece.
Make the food easy
Obviously, food is an essential part of kids parties, but that doesn’t mean it’s something to be stressed over. The easiest option is to buy in catering which you can do from larger departments stores or professional companies. Means you won’t be left in the last minute pizza prep too!
Although, if you do choose to cater the party yourself, don’t get caught in the trap of thinking that everything has to be home baked. Store bought is fine, and is certainly a lot easier to deal with when you have so much else on your plate.
Have your cake made
One of the most stressful elements of hosting a kids party for a lot of mums is the pressure on them to make a birthday cake. If you are like me and can’t bake you’ll be looking for other options! You can easily get lost in the mire of wondering whether that Victoria sponge with plastic a dinosaur on top is good enough.
To make it easier give the kids two choices. They can have a home made a simple cake or a novelty cake that is made by a professional cake decorator. There are plenty around, and it actually doesn’t cost as much as you would think considering the work that goes into it.
I would love to know how you make your children’s parties sparkle! Let me know over on my Facebook page!
