When the countdown to Christmas starts then I always start to think about organising the day itself and one of the ways I do this is set some time aside to think about myself and some self treating in the lead up to Christmas. I try to be organised and avoid the frazzle so here are a few things I do to make sure I am not burnt out before the big day!
If you have the funds then I would always recommend to book in for a professional pampering with a salon that uses Ellisons. I love having that whole salon experience from beginning ing to end so this is a super treat that means I switch off from the world. Obviously I defuzz then have my fingers and toes looking fab with a manicure!
Choosing the right outfit for Christmas day is the difficult one. I want to look glam but with 3 kids it also needs to be practical when running around and playing with new toys. This year I’ll avoid a dress and go for a fitted jumpsuit that flatters the right areas and cover the mum tum! I love this one from Mint Velvet!
My make up on the big day will be smokey with a red lip. I love to be a bit more glam then the school run! I’ll add a bit of silver glitter to my smokey eye so it’s not too dark and heavy and then I can get away with a bolder lip. Try not to go heavy on both!
I have short hair that is growing out. It’s not quite a bob yet so I’ll pin most of it back but leave a strong blunt fringe that will shape and accentuate my eyes! It also means it’s easy to do and maintain throughout the day too!
On the day itself I also try to drink plenty of water and keep hydrated. There is so much running around and general business – mix in a hot kitchen and it’s not the greatest thing to swap your water for pro secco all day 😉 I try and keep slices of lemon or lime to add into water or grab some OJ and add in sparkling water.
